Moorcroft help with the Chester homeless

Moorcroft were delighted to assist in raising funds to support homeless people in Chester for Urenco Nuclear Stewardship. Alysha Turner from UNS commented

 

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your very kind donation for our Christmas Charity Raffle on Friday 1st December.

 

The evening was huge success with the raffle raising a fantastic £600 for Chester Aid to the Homeless https://cath.org.uk (URENCO Nuclear Stewardship’s nominated charity for 2017).

 

This was all made possible by the wonderful donations we received, so once again thank you for your continued support”.

New Apprentice for Moorcroft

After joining the operations team as a general operative, 19 year old Lewis Williams from South Wirral has signed up for a 2 year Carpentry Apprenticeship through the CITB.

Lewis will attend Cheshire West College on day release, and will work, amongst others, at The URENCO Capenhurst Site.

Myles Platt, Managing Director added “Lewis has already attained his CSCS card through the CITB and has impressed the operations team with his attitude and ability. We are delighted to offer the opportunity.  The combination of securing framework agreements and contracts with a number of key clients and support from the Cheshire and Warrington Growth Hub means that we are confident in offering opportunities for young people like Lewis.”

Moorcroft says goodbye to one of its long service employees

The Moorcroft team have said goodbye to Martin Thomas who has been with the company for 33 years.  At 70 years young Martin, a first rate joiner has led by example and epitomises the Moorcroft ‘can do’ attitude.

Managing Director  Myles Platt made the presentation with colleagues to Martin on his last day.  “Martin not only possesses the traditional skills of a finishing joiner but can put his hand to many other skills such as tiling, concrete work, paving  and flagging.  We wish Martin and his wife a long and happy retirement which commences with a cruise around the Mediterranean!  Don’t get comfortable and leave us your phone number.”
