CLIENT: Cargill PLC
SERVICE: Civil Engineering /Structural Steel & Cladding, Fit Out
VALUE: £1.1 Million
Following a detailed tender process, Moorcroft was contracted to construct an extension to an existing Soybean Crush Plant and Refinery at Liverpool docks.
The works package included the demolition of the old Refinery Welfare Facility and Stores Building, a piled, structural steel and clad five-storey extension, internal amenities fit-out, a new MCC building and a piled concrete bund walled tank farm with associated concrete bases.
Moorcroft was also asked to deliver underpinning to the shallow foundations of the existing building and equipment in order to better preserve them for the future.
Working within the tight confines of a fully operational site and around sensitive equipment, Moorcroft worked with the client to provide a Construction Phase Health and Safety Plan. Due to the site being constructed on reclaimed land, ground investigations including trial digs and bore holes were required in advance of the piling in order to better guarantee the integrity of the proposed structure.
Moorcroft delivered an industry-leading fit for purpose process facility on time and on budget safely and effectively in partnership with the client’s team, resulting in a trusted and successful relationship with Cargill.
